Mike grew up in Mount Vernon and graduated from high school in 2008 before earning his degree in Business Management at Mitchell Technical College. His career in credit unions began in 2010 at Mitchell Area Federal Credit Union, which became part of Dakotaland in 2014. For more than 15 years, Mike has enjoyed helping members finance vehicles—and sometimes even a fishing boat. Outside of work, you’ll find him fishing for walleye, scouting for the upcoming hunting season or volunteering as a firefighter—a role he’s proudly held for nearly 15 years. In 2023, his department built a new firehouse. Mike also works part time at Wermers’ Lounge in Mount Vernon, attends local sporting events and loves cheering on the Vikings. SKOL!!
