Helen Johnson

Helen’s career began at the downtown location in Brookings after Dakotaland merged with the SDSU Credit Union in 2005. Helen took a short break from Dakotaland to perform title work for the Brookings Auto Mall but soon returned to the wonderful world of lending in 2006 and has not looked back. As an experienced loan officer with Dakotaland, Helen finds true satisfaction in being able to help members problem solve through the management of their finances. She particularly enjoys trying to help members repair credit and better their financial future. Helen admits she didn’t come out of the box perfect and had to learn along the way what to do and how to make wiser decisions with my own money and credit. She learned it is much easier when someone takes the time to explain how the process works, which is the cornerstone to her successful career.

Helen likes to spend her free time outdoors, whether it being on a walk with my dog, out in the yard mowing, or messing with the bird feeders or flowers. She loves to fish, ice fish and kayak. When the weekend comes around her favorite place to be is either home or at the lake.
